The I Chong: Meditations from the Joint

By Ram Collins

The law system that is being implemented by the officials in the United States has an edge over other countries. Enforcers in the US government keep a tight grip on drugs. They put users and dealers in jail to let others realize the consequences of being involved in such crime. At times, they might be overdoing it.

A must read book is out today about the harmful effects of the US anti-drug policy towards civilians. It is entitled "The I Chong: Meditations from the Joint." It is an entertaining book written by a famous comedian Tommy Chong. For the information of those who might not know him, he played the role of Chong in the movie Cheech and Chong. His book is recommended for people who just want to have a laugh while reading all of its pages.

The I Chong amazingly depicts Chong's true to life story. His son's company actively participated in the shipment of pipes (glass water) or most commonly known as "bongs" in the streets. They were found doing this along state lines. These pipes are actually used for smoking marijuana. Also most of the time, Chong's films allow him to be in a character of a typical stoner. The US government used these as their basis for sending him to rot in jail for nine long months.

His movie roles turned into a realistic nightmare that he can't escape. He decided to write this book after he was out as a free man. It was his way of showing to the world how unjustly the US system treated him. It showed that the law in the US is not that "clean". How could just officials make him choose between his son and wife's freedom or his? He clearly had no choice but to be the villain in this story.

He also told his life story as well as his experiences in jail. This book is a must read that many critics have considered to be page turner. Book critics have said that they just seem to close the book and continue reading it next time. Obviously, this book called the I Chong: Meditation from the Joint is very popular and is considered to be a good read.

The next afternoon you find yourself looking for a reading material that is interesting and fun at the same time, you might as well go straight to the I Chong's book shelf. Just a small warning: this book can be addictive!
